Salvage City

InTRANSIT

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s InTRANSIT Arts Festival runs from Friday 18th to Sunday 27th July. The Festival includes some intriguing events in the Golborne area at Salvage City, a festival hub set in Acklam Village under the Westway in the bays just by Portobello Road, and at the Goldfinger Factory.

Salvage City
Salvage City will be open between 1 and 10pm from Thursday to Sunday during the Festival fortnight with a host of special events. Highlights include an Evening of World Cinema from the Portobello Film Festival on Saturday 19th of July from 7pm.

A number of art installations at Salvage City will be designed to transform this public space into a domestic scene and to ask questions about privatisation in urban renewal plans.

Revolution #10
Revolution #10 takes place at the Goldfinger Factory at the bottom of Trellick Tower, and at a special campaign stall on Golborne Road on Saturdays during the Festival. Revolution #10 takes its inspiration from the Beatles' song, Revolution #9, and offers the public a voice in creating A People’s Manifesto to express the hopes and fears of the nation for the next five years, as we approach the General Election in 2015.

The manifesto will include poetry, films, photographs, banners and sound recordings. Impromptu performances will be announced on twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #revolution10.
