InTRANSIT Festival of Arts 2015 - Artist call out

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's InTRANSIT Festival of Arts 2015 is looking for artists and companies from any discipline, who are passionate about working outside conventional theatre and gallery settings.

Grants of from £1,000 to £5,000 are available for commissions and the theme for this year's festival is Paradise on Earth. Projects that bring in funding from other sources will be at an advantage and InTRANSIT is also keen to commission work that will have a life beyond the festival.

InTRANSIT wants to commission outstanding new site responsive or outdoor projects to be presented in Kensington and Chelsea between June 19th and 28th this year. With the support of a Grant for the Arts award from Arts Council England, the festival is particularly seeking out work that focuses on North Kensington and its communities.

The festival champions work that is immediate and relevant, encouraging the involvement of local people and places in the creation of new work. Now in its ninth year, the festival celebrates the changing urban landscape, making use of public and private spaces throughout the borough.

Please send questions and expressions of interest to curators@intransitfestival.co.uk. Include links to any relevant work and information about possible additional funding sources.

The deadline for submissions is 12 noon on Wednesday March 4th 2015. Expressions of interest will be shortlisted by March 11th. Shortlisted artists will then be given three weeks to further develop their idea before the final selection on Wednesday April 1st.
