Portobello Live!

Portobello Live is a new festival with live music, cabaret, spoken word and performance taking place over the May Bank Holiday, Sunday May 3rd and Monday May 4th. There are three Golborne venues, Acklam Village, Mode and Sporting Clube de Londres, and other venues nearby.

Headline act at Acklam Village on the Sunday are popular local band The Rotten Hill Gang, and there's more live music on the Monday. Sporting Clube de Londres on Elkstone Road will be hosting the Lisbon Kid on the Sunday and The Egg and other bands on Monday. Pink Cigar, Worry Dolls and others are on at Mode on Acklam Road on the Monday.

Other festival venues include Book & Kitchen on All Saints Road, the Mau Mau on Portobello Road, The Cow on Westbourne Park Road and Portobello House on Ladbroke Grove.

Portobello Live organisers say that the festival "is dedicated to making music, spoken word, cabaret and performance art accessible to all. Aimed at preserving Notting Hill's rich and diverse artistic heritage, the event is a first for an area whose past and present music and cultural history deserves its own spotlight."
