Children's Book Project
If you've got children you'll know how much they can enjoy and love books. But as they get older, their tastes change and you can be left with piles of books that they've outgrown. So what to do with them? Well there's a charity in Golborne, the Children's Book Project, that can help.
Located at the base of Trellick Tower the charity donates pre-loved books to children that might not be fortunate enough to own their own, and they're always ready to welcome books that are no longer required. Books are distributed via schools and community group - in December 2025 the charity donated its two millionth book to a child!
The Children's Book Project is a national enterprise but their headquarters is at 7-9 Golborne Road, right at the bottom of Trellick Tower. You can donate your surplus children's books there but the charity cannot accept:
Old or tatty books
Encyclopedias, textbooks, revision books, religious texts, DVDs or CDs
Ex-library or reading scheme books
The Golborne Road hub is open Monday to Thursday 9:30am-3pm, term time only. Please do not leave books outside: only bring books during opening hours.
The project also has a variety of volunteer roles and is always on the lookout for new people. Find out more about volunteering
