A favourite shop - Portobello Wholefoods
Portobello Wholefoods, tucked under the Westway on Portobello Road is one of our favourite local independent shops. It offers an outstanding selection of organic, vegetarian and vegan foods as well as a full range of natural health products.The shop, which has been trading on Portobello Road for more than four decades, stocks natural and locally sourced groceries including fresh fruit and vegetables and chilled foods. They also have products for those on special diets such as vegan, gluten free and dairy free.
Also on offer are a wide selection of store cupboard staples, vitamins and herbal supplements. Plus there’s a wide range of environmentally friendly body care and household cleaning items. Friendly staff are happy to advise on all their products.
And here's a top tip for the senior citizens among us - shop there on a Wednesday. Every Wednesday Portobello Wholefoods offers a 10 percent discount to anyone receiving the state pension.
